Common questions

Do I need an account?+

No. Wird has no accounts and no sign-up. Just open it and read.

Does it work offline?+

Yes, the entire Quran is on your device for reading, you never need an internet connection. The optional listening khatma needs a one-time download per reciter (Wi-Fi is best), then it plays fully offline too.

My progress looks wrong. How do I fix it?+

If your khatma jumped ahead by accident, open Browse, choose Sūrat al-Fātiḥah, and start your khatma from there. That sets you back to the beginning while keeping your streak.

Is my data private?+

Completely. Nothing is collected or uploaded, everything stays on your phone. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What is the daily pace feature?+

Optional. Choose how many days you'd like to finish a khatma in, and Wird works out your daily wird. With a pace set, the home ring shows two arcs: your overall khatma progress and, brighter, today's portion. It's always a gentle guide, never an obligation, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings.

What is the target date option?+

Optional. Instead of picking a number of days, pick the date you'd like to finish your khatma by. Wird works out how many pages a day that needs, and recalculates automatically as you read ahead or fall behind, so the daily ask always reflects what's left to hit that date. If the pace ever gets unreasonably demanding, Wird will suggest moving the date rather than piling on more pages.

What is the Tadabbur (saved āyāt) list?+

Optional. In the reader, tap the bookmark icon to save any āyah to a small list under the Tadabbur tab in Browse. Use it to sit with an āyah and reflect on it, or to focus on a single āyah while memorizing it. It's a personal bookmark list and never affects your khatma progress.

Can I listen to the Qur'an instead of reading it?+

Yes. Wird has a second, fully separate listening khatma: real recitation you play through at your own pace, with the same gentle progress tracking as reading. Switch between the two anytime from Settings.

Which reciters does the listening khatma have?+

Abdulrasheed Soufi, Abdulrahman Alsudais, and Mishary Alafasy so far, all Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim. Switch between them anytime in Settings.

What do tips do?+

Tips are an optional way to support development. They unlock nothing, the whole app is already free.

Which languages does Wird support?+

The interface is available in English, Bosnian, Arabic, German, Turkish, and French. You can read the Quran alongside a translation in Bosnian (Mlivo or Mehanović), English (Saheeh International), German (Bubenheim), Turkish (Diyanet Vakfı), or French (Hamidullah). Translations are provided via Tanzil.net.

Does Wird work on iPad?+

Yes. Wird is a universal app with a layout built for iPad: a wider reading column, sidebar settings, and grid browsing, in both orientations.
